To travel to Jamaica, or anywhere else for that matter, you will need either a U.S. Passport or a Notarized Birth Certificate and a valid Photo ID.
If you plan on traveling abroad more in the future, it is highly recommended that you go ahead and get your Passport if you don't already have it.
If you have had a Passport for several years, check to make sure it doesn't expire before March 22, 2002.
Again, it is possible to enter Jamaica with just a Notarized Birth Certificate and a Photo ID. If you decide to use method instead of getting a Passport, your Birth Certificate must be a legal, notarized document. A photo copy of your Birth Certificate, even if it's notarized, will not work.
